Serve the Sacred Journey: Jagannath Rath Yatra Annadaan Seva
Jagannath Rath Yatra is a sacred celebration of devotion, faith, and togetherness. Every year, countless devotees come together with love in their hearts to witness the divine journey of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra. For many devotees and people in need, this holy occasion is also a time when a simple meal can bring comfort, strength, and happiness. Through the Jagannath Rath Yatra Annadaan Seva, Daanpatra Foundation is working to serve nutritious meals to people during this spiritually significant occasion.
A Sacred Journey Made More Meaningful Through Seva
The Rath Yatra reminds us that devotion is not limited to prayers alone. True devotion is also reflected in compassion, kindness, and service to others. As devotees walk long distances, gather in large numbers, and spend hours participating in the celebrations, access to fresh and nourishing food becomes especially important.
Daanpatra Foundation aims to make this holy journey more comforting by arranging Annadaan Seva for devotees, elderly people, daily wage workers, children, and other individuals who may otherwise struggle to receive a proper meal. Every plate served is offered with respect and the belief that no person should remain hungry during a festival that celebrates divine love and unity.
Why Annadaan Holds a Special Place in Our Tradition
In Indian tradition, offering food to someone in need has always been regarded as one of the most meaningful forms of seva. Food gives immediate relief from hunger, restores energy, and brings a sense of dignity to those facing difficult circumstances. During Jagannath Rath Yatra, participating in Annadaan becomes an opportunity to connect devotion with a real act of compassion.
A meal may seem simple, but for a hungry person it can mean much more. It can bring relief after hours of walking, comfort to an elderly devotee, strength to a worker, and happiness to a child. Through collective support, thousands of such moments of care can be created.
Daanpatra Foundation’s Mission of Compassion
Through this campaign, Daanpatra Foundation seeks to arrange freshly prepared meals and distribute them responsibly among people who need them. The effort is focused on serving food with cleanliness, dignity, and care so that every beneficiary feels respected.
Your contribution can help support the preparation and distribution of meals during the Rath Yatra. Whether your support helps serve one person or many, it becomes part of a larger movement where devotion transforms into action and kindness reaches those who need it most.

Frequently Asked Questions
Daan Patra Foundation is a Sanatani, service-oriented NGO working to support temple (mandir) construction & renovation, gauraksha & animal welfare, and social upliftment through donations raised on our own crowdfunding platform. We connect willing donors with verified, dharmic causes so their daan reaches the right place.
A campaign (for example, for a mandir, annadaan, or a social cause) is created on the platform with details, images, and required funds. Devotees and well-wishers can donate online via UPI, cards, net-banking, or wallets. The collected amount is then used strictly for the stated purpose, and updates can be shared on the same campaign page.
You can support mandir construction/renovation, Sanatan dharma activities, gaushala & animal care, education & medical help for the needy, as well as other seva-based projects verified by Daan Patra. When a campaign is live, you’ll see its goal, requirement, and progress.
Where applicable, donations made through Daan Patra Foundation can be issued a receipt for your records. If the campaign mentions tax benefit (80G/12A or similar), you will get the receipt on the email you provide at checkout. Please enter correct name, email and number while donating.
Daan Patra lists only verified or internally managed dharmic/seva campaigns. Campaign owners are asked to share photos, bills, or work-in-progress updates which can be published on the campaign page so donors can see the impact.
