Ekadashi Gau Seva — Feed & Care for Stray and Needy Cows
A Seva Initiative by Daanpatra Foundation
Ekadashi is a sacred day of discipline, purity, and devotion. Many people observe vrat and keep the mind focused on faith and
good actions. Daanpatra Foundation believes that the most meaningful way to complete Ekadashi is to extend compassion to lives that cannot ask
for help. Through our Ekadashi Gau Seva, we support stray, injured, weak, and shelter-rescued cows with timely
feeding, clean drinking water, and basic care—so no cow is left hungry or unattended on this auspicious day.
Why Gau Seva on Ekadashi Matters
For many cows, daily life is uncertain—food is irregular, clean water is hard to find, and injuries often go untreated. Seasonal changes bring
added stress, dehydration, and weakness. When we offer fodder and care on Ekadashi, we turn devotion into action. A full feeding bowl can restore
strength, reduce hunger-driven stress, and support recovery for injured and elderly cows. This seva also helps create safer surroundings by
encouraging responsible feeding at calm, planned points.
What Your Contribution Supports
How We Implement Ekadashi Gau Seva
- Planned procurement: fodder/feed sourced as per feasibility, keeping freshness and safety in mind.
- Calm distribution: feeding is done responsibly to avoid crowding and waste, prioritizing weak and needy cows.
- Clean handling: hygienic packing/handling practices wherever possible during transport and distribution.
- Simple accountability: basic tracking of distribution quantity/locations and brief updates when available.
Ekadashi Seva Thought
Fasting purifies the self—feeding completes the vrat. When a cow eats in peace, devotion becomes living relief. On every Ekadashi,
Daanpatra Foundation invites you to support Gau Mata with nourishment, hydration, and care so that compassion reaches where it is needed most.

Frequently Asked Questions
Daan Patra Foundation is a Sanatani, service-oriented NGO working to support temple (mandir) construction & renovation, gauraksha & animal welfare, and social upliftment through donations raised on our own crowdfunding platform. We connect willing donors with verified, dharmic causes so their daan reaches the right place.
A campaign (for example, for a mandir, annadaan, or a social cause) is created on the platform with details, images, and required funds. Devotees and well-wishers can donate online via UPI, cards, net-banking, or wallets. The collected amount is then used strictly for the stated purpose, and updates can be shared on the same campaign page.
You can support mandir construction/renovation, Sanatan dharma activities, gaushala & animal care, education & medical help for the needy, as well as other seva-based projects verified by Daan Patra. When a campaign is live, you’ll see its goal, requirement, and progress.
Where applicable, donations made through Daan Patra Foundation can be issued a receipt for your records. If the campaign mentions tax benefit (80G/12A or similar), you will get the receipt on the email you provide at checkout. Please enter correct name, email and number while donating.
Daan Patra lists only verified or internally managed dharmic/seva campaigns. Campaign owners are asked to share photos, bills, or work-in-progress updates which can be published on the campaign page so donors can see the impact.
